A Life/Garden Analogy

 

Life has many “seeds” which get “planted” into our belief system. Some of them are “good seeds” that produce healthy plants and add beauty and enjoyment. But life also plants “bad seeds” which grow up as “weeds”.  People often don’t recognize these as weeds and allow them to grow. Unfortunately, these weeds will choke out the healthy plants.

 

As a counsellor, my job is to hunt for the weeds and help the individual recognize and remove them. Sometimes it is necessary to assist the individual to identify the difference between the beneficial plants and the harmful weeds and help them sow good seeds in place of the weeds. It is also important to help the individual to learn effective gardening tools and tips that prevent the weeds from growing back, allowing the healthy plants to flourish.

that you will be able to apply to all situations.
